A 3-year-old boy was brought in by family members to the Emek Hospital in Afula on Wednesday in critical condition after being left in a parked car by his aunt during the hot afternoon.

The aunt, an Umm al-Fahm resident, left the child in a car while going shopping and found him unconscious upon returning. Police questioned her on suspicion of negligence.

A further investigation into the incident is under way.
