Electronic violinist Lindsey Stirling, who has accumulated millions of followers on YouTube with her brand of highly theatrical, choreographed videos, is coming to Israel to perform on July 14 at Tel Aviv’s Charles Bronfman Auditorium, as part of her European summer tour.

Stirling is something of a unicorn in the music world, playing violin-driven electronic music as she stars in videos that often feel like a cross between “Game of Thrones” and “Frozen.”

She’s a self-taught performer, having learned how to play classical violin as a child but then creating her own brand of dubstep violin dance from YouTube tutorials.

Raised in the Church of Latter Day Saints, Stirling served an 18-month mission in New York, and still identifies herself as a member of the LDS church.

Her religious identity didn’t stop her career, even when she was told over and over by music producers that they didn’t know what to do with her.

She eventually took matters into her own hands, earned a spot on the reality show “America’s Got Talent” and brought her music to YouTube, where she now has over 13 million followers and 3 billion views.
