The Labor Party is to propose a bill for the dissolution of the 18th Knesset when parliament’s summer session opens on Monday.
The bill would require early elections within three months.
Labor Party chairwoman Shelly Yachimovich said that in the three years of Benjamin Netanyahu’s administration, Israel has witnessed an “unprecedented gap between the rich and the poor, an erosion of the middle class, and an all-time high in the employment of contract workers.”
She blamed the government for destroying the values of mutual responsibility between social sectors, as well as showing a lack of responsibility for the lives of its citizens.
The bill “is not [merely] a statement, but rather a proposal that we expect to pass during the next session, followed by elections in the upcoming year,” said Yachimovich.
