Netanyahu, US envoy tour Israeli THAAD missile deployment site
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GooglePrime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman travel to an undisclosed site where the US has deployed its Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) anti-missile system as part of a drill.
The two received a briefing from commanders in the field and toured the site.
The THAAD system serves to protect against ballistic missiles, including those carrying nuclear warheads.
The two say the deployment is a sign of the close cooperation between the allies and of American commitment to Israel’s security.
