Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says that no amount of international pressure will prevent Israel from acting against terror organizations that call for its destruction.
Speaking to the press Friday afternoon, Netanyahu says that Israel is preparing for all possibilities going forward, including a ground operation and a cease-fire.
Netanyahu warns however that the military will “not stop until quiet is restored to all Israeli citizens.”
“I will end [Operation Protective Edge] when the missile threat is over,” says the PM.
The prime minister accuses Hamas and Islamic Jihad members of “hiding behind civilians,” saying they are responsible for any harm that comes to ordinary Gazans.
The Iron Dome anti-missile system is an “extraordinary asset” to Israel’s defense, says the prime minister, adding that the Israeli government is acting to station Iron Dome batteries and other missile defense systems that would cover all of Israel.
Netanyahu also praises Israeli citizens for heeding the instructions of the Home Front Command when sirens sound, thus preventing the loss of life.
“I am proud to be your prime minister, Shabbat Shalom,” he says.
