PM to Ethiopian MPs: Like you, we fought for independence
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleNetanyahu addresses the Ethiopian parliament in Addis Ababa on the last stop of his African tour.
The PM is greeted by loud rhythmic clapping, and tells lawmakers that he is already planning his next visit to the country.
Netanyahu presents “greetings from Jerusalem, the city I grew up in and where King Solomon met the Queen of Sheba.”
He adds: “You in Ethiopia, you fought for your freedom for millennia. We respect you, we admire you. You resisted foreign rule and lived as a free independent homeland. We too live as a free independent homeland.”
