Several Palestinians wounded by IDF gunfire, riot control measures amid setttler attack on West Bank village – reports

Palestinian media reports several people wounded by gunfire and riot control means by the Israeli army amid a settler attack on the West Bank village of Mughayyir.

The Wafa news agency reports that settlers and Israeli troops attacked a home in the village, during which a man was shot in the thigh, two others were hit by rubber bullets, and a child was wounded by a stun grenade.

One person was also detained by the IDF, the report adds.

The IDF says that troops were dispatched to Mughayyir following a report of a “confrontation” between Palestinians and Israelis.

“During the confrontation, Palestinians threw stones at the Israelis, and the forces acted to disperse the gathering,” the military says.

The IDF says that troops spotted stones being thrown from a home in the village, and the forces then entered the building to apprehend suspects.

“Later, a violent riot broke out at another location in the village, during which masked Palestinians hurled stones at the forces using slings,” the IDF says.

The army says troops opened fire at one suspect “to remove the threat.”
