Police search for missing 5-year-old girls

Two young children said spotted alone late Friday night at cemetery in Petah Tikva

Police launched a manhunt for two 5-year-old girls after receiving reports that they were seen alone late Friday night.

The two girls were spotted near the Yarkon Cemetery in the central Israel city of Petah Tikva.

Police said a helicopter was assisting in the search for the two girls.

Police did not provide later updates as of Saturday morning as to whether the girls had been found.

Last month, a two-year-old boy from the central city of Bnei Brak went missing, but he was later located by police on an intercity bus headed towards the southern city of Netivot.
