Mohammad Alatrash, 40, an IDF tracker, was killed and abducted by Hamas on October 7, the IDF announced on June 24, 2024. His body was taken from the Kibbutz Nahal Oz area, following a battle with terrorists, the army said. He was previously believed to have been taken hostage alive.
Alatrash, from the Bedouin village of Sawa in the Negev, was last heard from at 6:15 a.m., according to reports from his family. They heard someone speaking to him.
Alatrash has two wives and 13 children, including a baby who was a month old when he was abducted on October 7, according to Ynet.
He also has 22 brothers and sisters, who were all awaiting information about their sibling.
“Our lives are not normal since Mohammad has not returned to the family since the beginning of the war,” his uncle told Ynet. “It is not easy for us to deal with such a difficult atmosphere, especially because we do not know if he is alive or dead. We hope that we will receive good news that will bring joy back to all of us. Every day the children ask when their father is coming back, and we have no way of providing answers.”
