Video shows wild boar attacking teenage girl in Haifa, wounding her
‘She was in its path and had nowhere to run,’ says father of 14-year-old, after animal charged at her

A wild boar attacked and injured a teenage girl in the northern city of Haifa on Wednesday.
In security camera footage, the boar can be seen charging out of an alley toward the 14-year-old and another girl as they pass by an ice cream store on the street.
“She was in its path and had nowhere to run,” her father told the Ynet news site.
The girl suffered wounds to her back and leg after apparently being knocked over by the boar. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment including a rabies shot.
The Haifa Municipality was working to track down the animal, with the aim of putting it to sleep.
The incident came as feral hogs have acted increasingly brazen in Haifa and the surrounding Carmel region over the past few years, with several people injured in attacks. The coronavirus lockdowns, which saw public life and movement reduced, along with a ban in 2019 against culling boars in Haifa, has led to an increased invasion of the animals.
