Israel Navy conducts joint exercises with Greek Navy

Upgraded military cooperation comes in response to worsening ties with Turkey

The Israeli and Greek navies conducted joint exercises last week, it was revealed Thursday.

Israeli missile boats were greeted in Greece by senior military officers and defense officials.

The exercises and visit follow joint exercises held in April, aimed at strengthening Israel-Greece military cooperation in response to Israel’s worsening ties with Turkey — with whom Israel held joint naval operations, together with the United States, for several years.
