Homeowner in central Israel hears noise in the night, discovers intruders holding tools

A Israeli man shot two robbers who broke into his home in central Israel Monday night, killing one of them.

An initial investigation revealed that the man heard noises in his home in Beit Yitzhak in the Sharon region. Upon checking the source, he discovered the two intruders in one of the rooms in the residence, holding some tools, according to Hebrew-media reports.

He shot at them, killing one at the scene, a man in his 30s. A second man, 35, was in serious condition and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police said an investigation was launched into the incident.

The identities of the parties involved were not yet known.
