Germany: police detain alleged high-ranking IS member
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleA German special police unit detains an allegedly high-ranking member of the extremist Islamic State group in the southwestern town of Mutterstadt.
The German news agency dpa reports Tuesday that the man, whose identity is not given, is detained after a tip from a prison inmate in the western city of Gelsenkirchen.
Dpa reports the information about the suspect comes in connection with alleged threats against the German Bundesliga soccer league. It does not further elaborate on the threat.
