Hamas releases clip purportedly of 2014 tunnel attack
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleHamas releases some footage of a tunnel infiltration and assault on July 19, 2014, in which two IDF soldiers — Major (res.) Amotz Greenberg, 45, and Sgt. Adar Barsano, 20 — were killed by Hamas gunmen.
The full video is set to be aired on Al-Jazeera in the coming days, but according to Channel 2, parts of it appear to be fabricated.
In the video, Hamas fighters are seen lying in wait, and later firing an RPG at an IDF vehicle. “Praise God, we managed to ambush them,” one says. “We killed a few of them and destroyed their jeeps.”
The TV report maintains that the Hamas video is part of an orchestrated propaganda effort to urge Israel to release Palestinian prisoners and stir up anti-Israel fury.
