India’s Modi to visit Israel on Sunday, says Netanyahu’s office

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Israel on Sunday, the Prime Minister’s Office tells The Times of Israel.

Speaking to the Conference of Presidents on Sunday, Netanyahu said Modi would visit “next week,” and that there is a “tremendous alliance between Israel and India, and we are going to discuss all sorts of cooperation. Now, you know, India is not a small country. It has 1.5 billion people. In India, Israel is enormously popular, enormously popular.”

Modi was in Israel for the first time in 2017, and Netanyahu made a reciprocal visit the next year.

Netanyahu has been planning a trip to India in recent months, but it has been delayed repeatedly.
