PM hails Jewish-Muslim coexistence on Astana synagogue visit
Netanyahu praises Kazakhstan as a model of Jewish-Muslim coexistence that could be an example for the Mideast, during a visit to a Chabad synagogue in the predominantly Muslim country’s capital city of Astana.
“Israel receives a strong standing among the nations not with a bowed head but by being steadfast and proud. And I say this here, in Central Asia, in an Islamic country that respects Israel, that honors coexistence and tolerance, and constitutes a model of what needs to happen – and can happen – in our region as well,” he says, according to a statement from his office.
