Iran will not accept any US preconditions to a return to the 2015 nuclear deal, and issues including Iran’s missile program and regional affairs are “non-negotiable,” Iranian President Hassan Rouhani says in a speech.
He also says he will not allow any delay to the end of sanctions on Iran. He may be referring to the so-called sunset clauses of the deal, which limit Iran’s use of certain advanced centrifuges until 2025 and the cap on its uranium stockpile until 2030.
Iran has breached both aspects of the deal since the US pulled out of the accord.
“Some people want to delay the process but we will not consent to it whether it be for one hour,” he says.

“Iran has repeatedly made it clear that it will also abide by its full commitments if all of the participants to the agreement live up to their full commitments.”
US President-elect Joe Biden has said he plans to reenter the deal when he enters office. He has not set the issue of limits to Iran’s ballistic missile program and regional intervention as a precondition to this, but has said he will seek dialog on the matter.
We can't do this work alone.
The war with Iran has been draining for all of us in Israel. But when I heard about a high casualty incident – ballistic missile impacts in Arad and Dimona that left nearly 200 people wounded – I drank a cup of coffee, packed a bag, and headed south.
There, I spoke with Shilgit, the head of an after-school program for underprivileged youth. Standing outside her destroyed center, Shilgit said it was a miracle that no children were hurt and spoke about the community coming together in the hours since.
As a Times of Israel reporter, I’m committed to telling stories of resilience like Shilgit’s. But my colleagues and I can't do this alone.
