US mayors visiting Israel, exploring cooperation opportunities

A bipartisan delegation of US mayors is currently visiting Israel with the American Jewish Committee (AJC).

The week-long educational seminar, sponsored by AJC’s “Project Interchange,” is designed to further enhance US-Israel relations at the municipal level.

Members of the delegation, chaired by Mayor John Giles of Mesa, Arizona, will meet with their Israeli counterparts to discuss best practices for their home communities — from economic development and technology startups, to crime, at-risk youth, education, urban revitalization, and city administration, according to the AJC.

“We are honored to host this extraordinary group of leaders at a vital time to visit the state of Israel,” says AJC Assistant Executive Director Dan Elbaum, who is accompanying the delegation.
