Soldier shot in chest, stomach, leg in accidental shooting at rifle range
Female commander injured as weapon is inadvertantly discharged at Beit Lid base; military police investigating incident

A 20-year-old female IDF soldier was shot and seriously injured Wednesday at an army shooting range at the Beit Lid base in the West Bank.
The soldier suffered wounds to her chest, stomach and leg. She was given first aid at the scene before being transferred to the Hillel Yafe Medical Center in Hadera for surgery.
She was in serious but stable condition Wednesday night.
The incident is said to have occurred when another soldier at the range discharged her rifle while it was on the “automatic” setting and, surprised by the weapon’s recoil, swerved while still firing, wounding the other soldier.
Military police have opened an investigation of the incident. According to Israel Hayom, the IDF notified the soldier’s parents of the incident and they were present at the hospital during her surgery.
