Italian artist aims to humanize political and religious figures by photoshopping them onto crappers

Italian artist Cristina Guggeri portrays Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other world leaders on the toilet in her new series “Il Dovere Quotidiano”—”The Daily Duty.”
The photomontages show Netanyahu (who looks profoundly bored for some reason), US President Barack Obama, Pope Francis, German’s Chancellor Angela Merkel and others in the midst of their morning constitutional.
The slightly off-color pieces of digital art were produced in collaboration with the website areashoot.net and are meant to remind people of their leaders’ humanity, the artist explained.
Reactions to the scatological pictures have ranged from praises of “hilarious” and “brilliant” to criticisms of “disrespectful” and “excessive.”
