Israeli passenger hauled off flight after accosting pilot over long delay in Berlin
Eyewitness says elderly woman marched up to cockpit while plane was waiting to complete an unscheduled stopover on flight from Israel to Prague

An Israeli passenger was pulled off a plane by police in Berlin on Monday following an altercation with the pilot after she complained about the flight being stuck on the tarmac in Germany for hours during an unscheduled stop.
Bluebird Airways said the woman was behaving in a manner that was “abnormal and unacceptable.”
The plane had already been delayed by an hour and a half when it took off for a flight from Ben Gurion International Airport to Prague, Channel 12 reported Tuesday.
During the flight, the cabin crew said the plane needed to stop in Berlin due to bad weather in Prague.
A passenger from the flight who identified herself as Adi told Channel 12 that at first the passengers were told that it would be an hourlong stopover.
Despite repeated assurances that the flight would soon take off again for Prague, it didn’t, she said.
“We were stuck there for about five hours on the plane. It was simply a nightmare,” Adi said.
When passengers asked for food and water the cabin crew said they would check, but none was provided.
During the delay, the ground crew refueled the craft and carried out some checks, with the cockpit door left open. An Israeli woman walked up to the door and spoke with the pilot who, according to the report, took offense at her attitude and the manner in which she addressed him.
In a short clip aired by the network, two officers can be seen standing in the aisle amid a commotion on the plane. A voice can also be heard calling out in Hebrew “I want chocolate,” but it is not clear from the video where it was coming from.
“We suddenly saw three police officers getting on the plane and going up to her to arrest her,” Adi said. “The passengers tried to stop it and told them that she is an older person who did nothing against the pilot and wasn’t rude to him, but that didn’t stop them.”
Instead, the officers handcuffed the woman. The cabin crew explained to the other passengers that the flight would not continue until the woman left the plane, which she then did, collecting her luggage while accompanied by the police.
Two hours later, the plane finally left for Prague.
The Channel 12 report did not say what happened to the woman after she left the plane.
Bluebird Airways said in a statement that “due to abnormal and unacceptable behavior by one of the passengers, local police were called. The safety of the passengers and crew is Bluebird Airways’ priority.”
The airline also claimed that the plane was only on the ground for three hours in Berlin.
