Israeli who entered Lebanon indicted
Simon Sa’adati, 36, illegally climbed the fence in early May; prosecutors want him kept in custody during trial

Simon Sa’adati, an Israeli citizen who crossed the border into Lebanon earlier in May, was indicted on Thursday in the Acre Magistrate’s Court.
Prosecutors requested that the court order that Sa’adati be detained until the end of the legal proceedings.
Sa’adati, 36, from Ramle, climbed the fence separating Israel and Lebanon on May 1, which is illegal because the two countries are technically in a state of war.
After three days of interrogation, Sa’adati was returned to Israel by Red Cross forces in Lebanon.
At the time, Sa’adati’s mother told Channel 10 news that he had disappeared several times before, and that he may be mentally unstable.
