‘Dr. Bibi’: Netanyahu copies Trump with satirical AI video mocking media critics

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu posts an AI-generated video mocking prominent critics of him in the Hebrew-language media, borrowing a format recently used by US President Donald Trump to attack his own detractors.

In the video, Netanyahu presents himself as a doctor offering a cure for patients suffering from “obsession, anxiety, and watching open-studio news broadcasts nonstop. It’s also possible that you frame every success as a failure, and everything looks sad and bad.”

The video follows a similar one posted recently by Trump — whose media tactics have often been replicated by the premier — in which the president portrayed himself as “Dr. Trump,” offering a cure for “Trump Derangement Syndrome” and mocking prominent celebrity Trump critics.

Netanyahu’s version features several prominent Israeli media figures and critics of the premier, including Channel 12’s Ben Caspit and Channel 13’s Raviv Drucker, as “patients” receiving treatment.

“The treatment is simple: Turn off the propaganda channels, stop swallowing fake news, take Bibimol every morning and Bibicin before bed,” Netanyahu says in the video.

Israel’s mainstream news outlets have been repeatedly targeted by Netanyahu and his government in recent years.

Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi has been waging a years-long effort to overhaul the media landscape, which critics warn will drastically weaken the free press.
