Government planning grants for municipalities that up virus testing — report
The government intends to give financial grants to municipalities that boost coronavirus testing levels, the Kan public broadcaster says.
The report comes amid concern of a recent drop in testing rates and ahead of a meeting of the so-called coronavirus cabinet.
According to Hebrew media reports, outgoing coronavirus czar Ronni Gamzu will recommend preventing Israelis from entering Palestinian Authority-controlled areas of the West Bank due to concerns people could be infected there.
He will also reportedly suggest Palestinian laborers who work in Israel be tested, and urge the implementation of his “traffic light” plan for dealing with the pandemic starting November 15.
