US President Joe Biden’s administration has reached a “quiet understanding” with Qatar for Doha not to release the $6 billion in Iranian oil funds that the US agreed last month that Tehran would be able to access for humanitarian needs in exchange for the release of several American hostages, CBS News reports.

Since the massive Hamas onslaught against Israel over the weekend, the Biden administration has been facing pressure to block the funds from reaching Iran, which backs the Gaza-based terror group.
