Sarah Silverman does a mitzvah for her friend, a former Twitter troll
A San Antonio man sends an obscene tweet hoping to raise dander, but the plan backfires when the Jewish comedian shows compassion, not contempt

Twitter trolls are people with back pain, too.
That’s what Jewish comedian Sarah Silverman taught us last week after befriending bitter troll-turned-friend Jeremy Jamrozy of San Antonio, Texas.
The relationship started when Jamrozy tweeted at Silverman a derogatory four-letter word. In the most uncomedic of moves, Silverman showed some online compassion.
“I believe in you. I read ur timeline & I see what ur doing & your rage is thinly veiled pain. But u know that. I know this feeling. Ps My back Fucking sux too. see what happens when u choose love. I see it in you,” she tweeted in response.

Upon discovering that Jamrozy’s bad attitude stems from his back pain and inability to pay his medical expenses, Silverman first got involved by asking her over 12 million followers if anyone knew of a doctor that could help him.
Yo SAN ANTONIO! Any kickass back/neck care specialists willing 2 help my friend @jeremy_jamrozy He has several slipped discs, no insurance, & can’t work bc of severe pain. Let’s get him back on his feet!! Who’s in?

The story took another grave turn when Jamrozy went in for a consultation on Tuesday, and the MRI revealed he had five herniated discs. Silverman quickly updated her fans on the situation:
Jeremy went for a consult and it’s worse than we hoped. If you’re so inclined, help get him on his feet and working again.
He’s in San Antonio if you’re an actual expert that can help with ur skills.. https://t.co/M61SdGWZh9— Sarah Silverman (@SarahKSilverman) January 2, 2018
While Jamrozy is in the process of figuring out his medical issues, Silverman’s support has motivated him to be a nicer person, he said in an interview with mySA.com. He created a GoFundMe page to pay for his doctor’s visit and claims he will donate the money to other San Antonians in need. Silverman also offered to pay for his medical expenses, he said.

He tweeted, “God I feel so overwhelmed with joy tears in my eyes because I’m finally getting the help I need. Sarah Silverman is a complete angel. I’m in shock man shit like this never happens. I won’t take it for granted.”
