The Tel Aviv International Salon and The Times of Israel are pleased to host an English-language evening ahead of the September 17 elections with Blue and White chairman Benny Gantz, in Tel Aviv, on Monday September 9, at 8:30 p.m.

Gantz will be in conversation with actress, producer and activist Noa Tishby. ToI’s Raoul Wootliff will then moderate a “Town Hall” session, with plenty of audience Q&A participation, at Hangar 11 in Tel Aviv. Register here.

Lieutenant General (Res.) Gantz has had a long military career, from platoon leader to 20th chief of the General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces. During his tenure, he was responsible for ensuring the security of the State of Israel amidst the ever-changing realities brought about by the Arab Spring: shifting regional powers, civil war in Syria, the Iranian nuclear threat, and the rise of Islamic State. In addition to supervising ongoing operational activities and covert Special Forces operations, he led the IDF through three major campaigns in Gaza, which threatened Israel on both the civilian and military fronts.

In January 2019, Gantz established the Israel Resilience Party, and he is running in the elections as a prime ministerial candidate with the Blue and White Party, in partnership with Yair Lapid, Moshe Yaalon and Gabi Ashkenazi.

The Times of Israel is the market leader and fastest-growing Israel news site in the English-speaking world. Founded in 2012, based in Jerusalem, it now averages over five million monthly readers and over 25 million monthly page views. Nonpartisan and independent, it covers Israel, the Middle East and the Jewish world, publishes editions in French, Arabic and Persian, and maintains a vibrant, diverse and resonant blogs section. It recently opened the Hebrew website Zman Yisrael at zman.co.il. It also provides the internet platform used by its growing number of partners among the world’s leading Jewish newspapers.

The Tel Aviv International Salon is the largest speakers forum in Israel. The nonprofit organization was established in 2009 to provide a challenging and thought-provoking nonpartisan platform for the Tel Aviv young professional community. With an increasing number of motivated young adults from around the globe choosing to make Tel Aviv their home, the Salon provides a unique forum to learn, debate and discuss Israeli, Jewish and world politics, economics, society, and culture with a diverse range of engaging decision makers and leading influencers. “The Salons are politically unaffiliated and as such do not support any specific candidate or political party,” notes founder Jay Shultz. “That being said, we are passionate about Zionist activism, and championing our community of 60,000+ young leaders to get their hands dirty in the party of their choice to continue the pioneering spirit in building the State of Israel.”
