Israeli R&B lovers may be in for a treat, at least according to sources in the industry who are saying that singer-songwriter Alicia Keys is in the midst of intensive negotiations with mega-promoter Shuki Weiss for a performance in the country this summer.
Over the past few years, despite enjoying a wealth of performances by first-tier stars, Israelis have also faced multiple let-downs, as prominent recording artists confirmed their arrival and then canceled, often following pressure from the anti-Israel set.
Most recently, the massive Lollapalooza music festival removed Israel from its list of venues for summer 2013.
Keys, 32, is one of the most successful pop and soul singers of the past decade, with sales of over 50 million copies of her albums and a plethora a Grammy Awards to her name.
Last week, she opened the Super Bowl in New Orleans with a performance of the US National Anthem.
