British rocker Alan Parsons of the Alan Parsons Project and Israeli musician Aviv Geffen announced a professional collaboration ahead of Parsons’ Tel Aviv appearance on February 10.

The two musicians, who met in Berlin last year, will collaborate on Geffen’s upcoming English-language album. Geffen will appear in Parsons’ performance at the Yad Eliyahu arena in February.

In a press statement, Parsons said he was pleased to return to Israel for a second time. The alternative 70s rocker was in Israel four years ago, and said Israeli fans are “warm and loyal.”

Geffen said Parsons’s music was a major influence on his own work.

Many of the early Project’s titles were concept albums that began with an instrumental introduction. One of the most well-known is “Sirius” from the “Eye in the Sky” album, which has been used as entrance music by various American sports teams, TV shows and movies.

Working in English and in collaboration is nothing new for Geffen. He released his first English-language studio album, “Aviv Geffen” in 2009 and since 2001 has recorded three collaborative “Blackfield” albums with musician Steve Wilson of Porcupine Tree.

Geffen is also a mentor on reality show “The Voice” Israel.
