Two women, likely a mother and her daughter, were killed in a fire that broke out in a Tel Aviv apartment early Monday morning.

Firefighters arrived at the scene after receiving a call near 3 a.m., and put out the flames, which were raging in the fourth-story apartment.

When they burst into the apartment, they found the two bodies.

Police and firefighters were investigating. Preliminary assessments pointed to a heater, left on overnight, as the cause of the blaze.
