Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein’s wife, Aviva Weinstein, who was accused of hiring, Soze Felix, an Indian-born migrant worker who did not have a work permit, is expected to be convicted in a plea bargain and will pay a fine of NIS 20,000 ($5,400).
The final ruling on the matter will take place Wednesday in the Tel Aviv Labor court, where Weinstein was indicted in February.
The Interior Ministry’s Population, Immigration and Borders Authority offered Weinstein the deal in return for her confession to illegally employing the worker.
The indictment stated that although Felix had been staying in Israel legally, he had not acquired a suitable work permit and was not authorized to carry out housework.
Felix had allegedly been employed at the Weinstein residence between January and August 2009.

After the incident was revealed in 2010, Felix fled back to his home country.
Yehuda Weinstein had not yet assumed the position of attorney general at the time of Felix’s employment.
