AIPAC, the largest US pro-Israel lobby, will begin its annual Policy Conference this on Sunday with a tribute to the late Israeli president Shimon Peres.
Peres, who is the only person to have served as both prime minister and president of Israel, died in September at the age of 93.

Attending this year’s conference will be Peres’s son Chemi Peres and Yousef Qaraja, a Palestinian boy from the West Bank Palestinian village of Halhul, whose life was saved 10 years ago after undergoing complex cardiac surgery in Israel through one of the Peres Center’s medicine and healthcare initiatives.
The first presentation at the conference will be by the Peres Center’s “Saving Children” program, which has saved the lives of around 12,000 Palestinian children through providing medical treatment in Israel.
In addition, Chemi Peres will speak at the plenary session on the strategic importance of Israel-US relations, as well as cooperation between the Israeli and American administrations.
