Senior Palestinian Authority official Saeb Erekat fires back at the Trump administration after senior White House adviser Jared Kushner chided the PA leadership as “scared” in an interview to the East Jerusalem-based Al Quds newspaper.
“This whole administration is biased in favor of Israel,” Erekat tells Channel 10. “Their peace plan will fail. They want to impose facts, but that will not work for them.”
“They see us as terrorists, and Kushner himself said that they (the Trump administration) wants to replace Abu Mazen (PA President Mahmoud Abbas) and Erekat. It is unacceptable, we are the elected leadership of the Palestinian people,” Erekat adds.
The PLO secretary general says that the US peace team has adopted the positions of “Liberman, Bennett and Netanyahu,” and again declared that the Palestinians would not meet with the “biased” Americans.
Help us report truthfully on social media
As a multimedia journalist, my job is to take the quality, fact-based journalism produced by The Times of Israel newsroom and make it accessible across every platform — from Instagram posts to podcasts to short-form videos.
This is how many, especially young people, consume news these days. But misinformation is rampant on social media. Our team at ToI produces accurate, responsible short-form reporting on Israel and the Jewish world.
If you believe in the importance of factual social media journalism, please consider joining our reader support group, The Times of Israel Community. Your financial support is essential to sustain responsible multimedia reporting.
