NY court allows bus signs that compare Muslims to ‘savages’

Judge Paul Engelmayer ruled last Friday in Manhattan that the MTA violated the First Amendment by refusing the ad

JTA — A US District Court judge ruled that New York’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority should not have rejected an advertisement for city buses that called enemies of Israel “savages.”

Judge Paul Engelmayer ruled last Friday in Manhattan that even though the ad does appear to compare Muslims to savages, the MTA violated the First Amendment by refusing it.

“In any war between the civilized man and the savage, support the civilized man. Support Israel. Defeat Jihad,” reads the ad from the pro-Israel American Freedom Defense Initiative.

The group is helmed by Pamela Geller, whose Atlas Shrugged blog warns of growing Islamization.

The judge stayed his order for 30 days to give MTA a chance to appeal.
