Need a drill? Planning a picnic but don’t have a table? Could be an opportunity to check out Tel & Take, Tel Aviv’s first household goods depot launched by the city.
Set up in collaboration with the always-creative residents of Florentin — the southern Tel Aviv neighborhood where the household goods space is located — the depot will stock all kinds of necessary items, including drills, picnic tables, beach umbrellas, camping equipment, even pet carriers for a symbolic fee of NIS 10 (that’s less than $3).
The concept, said Mira Marcus, a press officer for the municipality, is to continue making Tel Aviv a more sustainable city.
Given the city’s small apartments and high cost of living, the lending space offers access to expensive items without having to buy or store them.
“The depot is a shared economy tool that helps make life cheaper and more community-centered for its residents,” said Marcus.
The city also set up the Tel Aviv Tourist Info truck at Gordon Beach, which will be in operation through the month of September.
