A Haifa man was stabbed in the face and seriously injured in a drunken brawl outside a bar on Nordau Street on Friday night.

Magen David Adom paramedics performed first aid on the 40-year-old before taking him to Rambam Medical Center in Haifa for further treatment.

Police arrested a suspect and closed off the area, Army Radio reported. Both victim and suspected assailant were believed to inebriated during the incident.

In a separate incident in the southern coastal city of Ashdod, a 19-year-old man was seriously injured when stabbed on Shlomo Ben Yosef Street.

Paramedics took the victim to the local hospital for treatment.

Police opened investigations into both of Friday night’s stabbings.
