Man bites dog… in a police station

A Kfar Saba man on Tuesday bit a police dog after resisting arrest.

Police arrived at the 35-year-old man’s home in central Israel after receiving reports that he had gone berserk in his apartment, Ynet news reported. They tried to calm him, but he lunged at one of them with a screwdriver. Officers arrested the man and took him to the Kfar Saba police station where he continued to struggle and assault staff.

Noticing a police dog at the station, the man broke free, pounced on the canine, and began to bite it. Officers at the scene hauled the man away from the dog and locked him in a cell. The dog did not suffer serious injuries.

The man will be brought before the Kfar Saba Magistrate’s Court, where police will request an extension of his remand while they continue their investigation.
