The Hadash party, which is part of the Joint (Arab) List faction in the Knesset, slams Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry’s “puzzling” visit to Jerusalem.
Shoukry’s trip is a “puzzling step, in light of the Israeli government’s open refusal of peace, and its attempts to annihilate the two-state solution and the right for self determination for the Arab-Palestinian nation,” it says in a statement, according to Haaretz.
“The Israeli government, which rejects all diplomatic initiatives, including the Arab Peace Initiative, is taking advantage of its ties with Arab countries and its open alliance with Turkey and the Gulf states to advance a plan against the Palestinian people which comes at no political or economic cost.”
In March, Hadash — which is led by Joint (Arab) List leader Ayman Odeh — condemned Gulf Arab states for designating the Lebanese group Hezbollah a terror organization, arguing that the move serves Israel.
