Herzog calls for Netanyahu to be suspended as communications minister
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleOpposition leader Isaac Herzog is calling for the attorney general to prevent Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from also serving as communications minister.
Netanyahu is reportedly being investigated by police for attempting to collude with the publisher of the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, seeking favorable coverage in return for sidelining their main competitor.
“I have asked him to respond within 48 hours. If not I will appeal to the High Court,” Hezog tells army radio.
“I think the AG should have acted awhile ago and prevented Netanyahu from having any influence over the media,” Hezog says.
Netanyahu is also foreign minister.
