Israeli missing in Swiss resort fire named as Charlotte Niddam, 15 — reports

Hebrew media reports name the Israeli national missing following a deadly fire in a Swiss ski resort as 15-year-old Charlotte Niddam, who also has British and French citizenship.
At least 40 people celebrating at Le Constellation bar on New Year’s Eve were killed in the fire, which local authorities have attributed to sparkler candles being carried too close to the ceiling.
In a statement Friday, Israel’s Foreign Ministry said it received a report that an Israeli citizen was missing after the blaze at the bar in Crans-Montana.
The ministry said it was in touch with the family of the individual.
British media have said that the missing include Niddam, who previously attended Immanuel College, a Jewish school near London.
“Charlotte was a student at Immanuel College, and her family has now moved back to France,” the school told media outlets. “The families have asked that we all keep them in our thoughts and prayers during this extremely difficult time. We are all praying for a miracle for Charlotte and the others, and want the families to feel the full strength of the Immanuel College community’s support.”
Now, Hebrew media reports say that Niddam holds Israeli citizenship and is the Israeli national referred to in the Foreign Ministry’s Friday statement.
