Trump insists Bannon has no allegiance to alt-right
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleTrump dismisses accusations against his chief strategist, Stephen Bannon, during his meeting with The New York Times.
He would never have hired Bannon if he thought he was racist or a member of the alt-right, the president-elect says.
On Bannon:"If I thought he was a racist or alt-right or any of the things, the terms we could use, I wouldn't even think about hiring him."

Trump also notes that the media storm surrounding Bannon’s allegiances have been “hard” on him.
Trump on Bannon: "I think it's very hard on him. I think he's having a hard time with it. Because it's not him."
