BALTIMORE — The General Assembly of the Jewish Federations of North America was evacuated Monday evening due to what JFNA officials were told was a water pressure problem in the Baltimore Convention Center building.
Several hundred Jewish activists and organization officials were evacuated outside the building for some 40 minutes, as rumors suggested a fire or even a bomb scare.
Forty minutes later, conference participants were invited to return into the building.
The General Assembly is the largest annual gathering for American Jewish communal fundraising federations. It is taking place this week in Baltimore, Maryland.
