High Court limits weekly protests outside AG’s home to 500 people
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleThe High Court of Justice rules the weekly protests outside the Petah Tikva home of Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit are allowed to continue, but they must be limited to 500 people.
Judges also barred protesters from using loudspeakers during the demonstrations, and limited the gatherings to four hours on Saturday evenings. They also limited the number of megaphones at the protests to 2.
In recent months, the protests against Mandelblit’s handling of a number of graft cases involving Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his family have steadily grown in size.
In response, police have prevented some demonstrators from arriving at Mandelblit’s home and turned key organizers away.
