Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations says Iran will be under the “spotlight” at the General Assembly later this month, when US President Donald Trump will chair a UN Security Council meeting on Iranian activities.
In a briefing to the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, Danny Danon slams Iran for continuing to “encourage terrorism, test ballistic missiles, and threaten the Middle East.”
“Other countries in the world are expected to increase their pressure against Iran, which systematically violates Security Council resolutions,” adds Danon, according to a statement from Israel’s Mission to the UN.
“At the General Assembly that will be opened in the coming weeks, the spotlight will be directed at Iran’s aggressive policy and this will have significant implications.”
