Mortars fired at soldiers patrolling Gaza border

No injuries reported in attack on IDF near border fence

Two mortar shells exploded near IDF soldiers patrolling near the border fence with Gaza, Israel Radio reported on Thursday.

There were no injuries or damage caused in the attack.

On Wednesday night the IDF said it had killed two senior Hamas operatives who were planning a major terrorist attack near the Gaza fence.

Exchanges of fire on both sides of the fence are not uncommon along the often tense border with Gaza.
