US President Joe Biden spoke to former president Donald Trump earlier tonight, according to a White House official.

Biden also spoke with Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro and Butler Mayor Bob Dandoy, the official says, given that the shooting took place in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Biden said earlier tonight that he would return to the White House, cutting short a weekend stay in Delaware to monitor the unfolding situation.

Biden will convene a briefing with homeland security and law enforcement officials at the White House on Sunday morning.
