All coalition bills slated for preliminary readings are removed from today’s Knesset agenda, leaving only opposition legislation on the agenda.
This occurs as the ultra-Orthodox Shas and United Torah Judaism parties are pushing the coalition to pass a bill exempting yeshiva students from military service ahead of the passage of the state budget.
The coalition, which lacks a majority, has long struggled to advance private member bills for preliminary readings due to the ongoing rift with the Haredi parties, which have maintained a partial legislative boycott over the issue.
