Israeli kickboxers take home 7 medals, including gold, at World Championships in Abu Dhabi

Israel’s kickboxing team caps off a successful run at the World Kickboxing Championships in Abu Dhabi with seven medals, including one gold, as the tournament hosted by the United Arab Emirates ended earlier today.

Some 2,000 athletes from 85 countries participated in the event.

Yulia Sachkov, a 26-year-old former world and European champion, defeated an athlete from the Czech Republic in yesterday’s final match to win gold for her second world championship.

Fellow Israeli Osaid Goda takes home silver after reaching the final match despite an injury to his right hand, as does Yosef Aybazli.

Israeli athletes also earned four bronze medals.
