Hamas says several killed in strike near ambulances outside hospital; IDF: Hamas cell was in ambulance
The Hamas-run health ministry claims a blast has killed multiple people near the territory’s Al-Shifa hospital in Gaza City.
An AFP journalist at the scene says they saw multiple bodies beside a damaged ambulance.
Footage shows bloody women and children scattered on the concrete outside ambulances.
Hamas claims without evidence that the blast was caused by an Israeli strike.
Israel has yet to comment on the incident.
Israel has stated that Hamas’s main command center is located under Shifa hospital.
Update: The Israel Defense Forces says it carried out an airstrike on an ambulance in the northern Gaza Strip, which it identified as being used by a Hamas cell, close to a battle zone. “A number of Hamas terrorist operatives were killed in the strike,” the IDF says.
