Yisrael Beytenu party chief says any “narrow” government made up of right-wing and religious parties, or alternatively one composed of left-wing and Arab parties, would be a “disaster” for Israel.
“Personally, the best thing would be a narrow government,” Liberman says at an event in Tel Aviv, explaining he would likely have greater influence in such a government. “In any narrow government, I could get half the kingdom.”
“From the perspective of the State of Israel, any narrow government will be a disaster,” he continues. “This is a government that will need to fight every week to survive.”
Liberman says his priorities are the formation of a unity government and the avoiding further elections.
